Palin/McCain
Please tell me this is one of those "A Year Ago Today:" articles. Come on, who cares about this anymore?
Worlds Worst
It's unbelievable how ridiculous this guy is. If he only knew who he was talking about...
Senator Resigns After Affair... Again
This seems to happen more often in Congress than it does in the NBA...
Obama's Black America Speech
In a speech to black America, President Obama said, "Your children must have dreams beyond being rap stars... They might think they’ve got a pretty good jump shot or a pretty good flow, but our kids can’t all aspire to be the next LeBron or Lil Wayne."
Good point... except why didn't he mention Kobe?
It was actually a really good speech though, he made some good points.
The Cost of Universal Health Care
Oh puke...
Yeah, that makes sense. While companies are laying people off in an effort to save any money to stay in business, let's take more money from them and make it more expensive for them to employ people. That's brilliant...
"Congressional plans to fund a massive health-care overhaul could have a job-killing effect on New York, creating a tax rate of nearly 60 percent for the state's top earners and possibly pressuring small-business owners to shed workers. " (New York Post)
(I'm not saying that nothing should be done about the Health Care System, just not this, not now)
No More "In God We Trust"?
This just pisses me off...
"The nation's largest group of atheists and agnostics filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to block an architect from engraving 'In God We Trust' and the Pledge of Allegiance at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington."
American Clean Energy Act
I heard that because of the American Clean Energy and Security Act that passed the House on friday, even your blog has to go green. So...
What is the Governments Purpose?
This is taken from Barrack Obama's Inaugural Address this morning: "The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified."
That's not really my definition of a "working government." Not that a government can't do those things, but if I had to pick the top 3 things that a government is responsible I wouldn't have picked any of those.
